From assistive technology to rehabilitation, we build sensing systems that help people move better, while closing the gap between what the human body is doing and what healthcare professionals can see, measure, understand, make decisions, and act.
From Restoring Function to Understanding Human Movement
Founded in 2018, Vulcan began with a simple mission: to develop practical upper-limb solutions that could restore functionality and independence for people with limb loss, particularly in underserved healthcare systems.
Building these solutions required us to understand how the human body generates signals and how those signals can be translated into intuitive device control. This led us to develop expertise in EMG, biosignal decoding, wearable sensing, and human-machine interaction.
As our sensing technologies evolved, so did the questions we could answer.
We moved from using human signals to control assistive devices to using them to understand muscle function, movement, and recovery.
Today, Vulcan applies this technology across musculoskeletal and exoskeleton rehabilitation and assistive applications.
